FOR używamy gdy chcemy wyrazić pewien okres czasu, podkreślamy jego trwanie:

Natomiast SINCE użyjemy gdy mówimy o okresie czasu i podkreślamy moment w którym (ten okres czasu) się zaczął np. dokładną datę czy porę dnia:
