Budowa czasu Present Continuous
Zdania twierdzące
Czas Present Continuous tworzymy używając czasownika 'to be' oraz drugiego czasownika z końcówką 'ing'.
Podmiot + prawidłowa forma 'to be' + czasownik z końcówką -ing + reszta zdania.

Spójrzmy na odmianę zdania - "Tańczę teraz"

Zastosowanie końcówki -ing może się różnić w zależności od ostatniej litery czasownika !
1. do większości czasowników dodajemy po prostu -ing:
np. standing Click to listen highlighted text! standing , going Click to listen highlighted text! going itp
2. jeżeli czasownik kończy się na "-e", wyrzucamy je i wtedy dodajemy "-ing", np.
smile - smiling Click to listen highlighted text! smile - smiling , dance - dancing Click to listen highlighted text! dance - dancing
3. jeżeli czasownik kończy się na "-ie", zmieniamy tę końcówkę na "y" i dodajemy "-ing", np:
die - dying Click to listen highlighted text! die - dying
4. jeśli czasownik kończy się na "-l", przed dodaniem "-ing" podwajamy "l", np.
travel - travelling Click to listen highlighted text! travel - travelling , control - controlling Click to listen highlighted text! control - controlling
5. w przypadku czasowników jednosylabowych kończących się spółgłoskę ( np. p,t,r ), gdzie przed spółgłoską występuje samogłoska (np. a,e,o), przed dodaniem "-ing" podwajamy ostatnią literę:
